A design campus is to be created on the site of the former Hutschenreuther porcelain factory. As the first building block, the studio building provides an important impulse for the development of the site. The single-story, modularly expandable structure marks the entrance to the campus with the sketched higher volume of the College of Industrial Design. A shed roof and several interior courtyards evenly light the building. The folding of the roof responds to the different requirements of the workshops, studios and communal spaces below, mapping the individual zones of the building in the façade.
