A building-part of the Alte Spinnerei (old spinning works), a factory building from the early 1920s with a protected historic façade, will have its core removed and be transformed into an administration and agency center. The former lower level of the building is transformed into an attractive public entrance area by lowering the exterior public space by one meter and seamlessly connecting interior and exterior. The multifunctional zone does not solely form the address of the administration center but can cater to various events with its generous communication area and its partitionable function hall. In order to efficiently use the 40m deep upper levels as office spaces four staggered courtyards were created with flexible workspaces surrounding them. The roof of the Alte Spinnerei was activated and used for innovative apartments for students and families.
